Hiatus Hernia / Gastric Reflux Surgery

Hiatus Hernia / Gastric Reflux Surgery

Hiatus hernia refers to a widening of the opening in the diaphragm where the oesophagus travels from the chest to the abdomen.

The stomach can end up moving partly or completely into the chest, and patients may experience a range of symptoms including heartburn.  Please contact Dr Gan’s rooms for further information.  Patients will need to have a gastroscopy first and may require additional investigations as part of the workup for surgery. Dr Gan performs this surgery laparoscopically, often with as few as three small incisions.
